The Idea of Living

What is life like in the day of shortform content supremacy?

The Idea of Living

It scares me how much people do not want to consume longform content anymore.

Be it a 300-page novel, a serious movie, a well prepared study, even blood test results

Everywhere the handprint of AI is reducing the impressions and patience of longform to gists, summaries and such.

Latest additional feature of our attentions being bought out by companies like Meta, is the auto-scroll. Where before it was just the technologically updated, currently its all ages, all classes of society all the time.

Their only form of entertainment is that lil 5 inch block of light shining back at them.

Genuinely terrifies me when people who previously liked gardening, liked movement, like hide and seek now are reduced to enjoying simply consuming the idea of others doing it. It’s the ugly truth. We now like the idea of living, more than the actual act of living.

How much longer before our already short attentions span to zero?
